Community Partnerships
The Ventura County Department of Airports is fortunate to have established partnerships with a variety of national non-profit organizations that operate locally out of Camarillo and Oxnard airports. With a commitment to all Ventura County residents, these organizations offer a variety services designed to engage and strengthen the community.
This nationally -based organization offers medical transport for patients facing a variety of health conditions and obstacles related to access to safe and reliable transportation. With volunteer pilots based at both CMA and OXR, Angel Flight West provides a personalized and caring experience for people in Ventura County and beyond facing some of their most trying challenges.

Commemorative Air Force Museum (CAF)
As stated on their website, the CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is an all-volunteer organization, with members from all walks of life, dedicated to preserving the history of WWII aircraft for generations to come. The CAF is a non-profit 501(c)3, privately funded and totally self-supporting organization.

With chapters based out of both Oxnard and Camarillo Airports, the EAA is dedicated to harboring a welcoming environment for aviation enthusiasts who are interested in community service, volunteer work, and youth educational experiences including the Young Eagles program.

LightHawk Aviation is dedicated to conservation efforts throughout the United States with partnerships that include the Nature Conservancy and the Santa Barbara Zoo. With ties to locally based volunteer pilots out of Oxnard Airport, LightHawk’s work includes conservation efforts dedicated to the Channel Islands Fox and California Condor populations.

Pilots N Paws® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designed to be a meeting place for volunteers engaged in the valuable services of rescuing, sheltering and adopting animals. Volunteer pilots at both OXR and CMA assist with animal transportation for rescue flights, overnight foster care or shelter, and more.

Ventura County is home to one of the largest chapters for this international organization. Membership includes general aviation pilots and professional pilots who fly for airlines, corporations, government entities, and the movie industry. As stated on their website, some pilots “are military pilots, flight instructors, those who fly for enjoyment, and student pilots. They are women who possess a wide range of talents and are willing to put them to use.”
The Ventura County Ninety-Nines boasts one of the most active chapters in the world offering a variety of youth-focused opportunities such as career day events and presentations. The group also is a frequent partner of the EAA’s Young Eagles program and awards scholarships annually to women who are starting their journey as pilots.
